Cool Place

1:07

The man laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. He turned his head and looked at the clock. 1:07.

The man thought of his day. Was it a good day? Had he done what he wanted to do? Had he not done the things he didn’t want to do? Did he have regrets? He doesn’t know.

The man looked again, 1:07.

The man thought of his past. Did he live it well? Was it a good life so far? He had met many people and done so much, but did he do what he had wanted to do? Met those he wanted to meet? Did he have regrets? He doesn’t know.

The man looked once more, 1:07.

The man thought of his future. What awaits him? Even more people to meet, more things to do. Life can change so much in one instance. Meeting one person or doing one thing could change it all forever. Can he trust himself to do it right? Will he have regrets? He doesn’t know.

The man’s eyes were still on the clock, 1:07.

The man thought deeper. If he has regrets, if he gets more of them. Can he fix them? Can that feeling go away? Will there be other chances? Or was his life already derailed long ago by a choice long in the past? He doesn’t know.

The man looks, 1:08.

The man closes his eyes.
